EN-tested disinfectants that kill bacteria, viruses, and fungi across different surfaces. Our disinfectant range inlcudes products that meet commercial hygiene standards for healthcare, education, hospitality, and general business environments.
Professional Disinfection:
- EN standards explained: EN1276 (bacteria, general use), EN14476 (viruses including enveloped viruses such as influenza and coronavirus), EN1650 (yeasts and moulds). Specify the standard relevant to your environment
- Contact time is critical: A disinfectant only achieves its stated kill rate if left wet on the surface for the specified contact time – typically 30 seconds to 5 minutes depending on the product
- Disinfectant vs sanitiser vs steriliser: Sanitisers reduce microbial load; disinfectants kill a defined spectrum of pathogens; sterilisers eliminate all microbial life. Match the product to the actual risk level
- Surface compatibility: Check compatibility with plastics, rubber seals, and soft furnishings, some high-concentration disinfectants cause degradation with repeated use
COSHH and Safe Use:
All disinfectants used in the workplace fall within COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations. A COSHH assessment is required before use, covering dilution rates, PPE requirements (typically nitrile gloves and eye protection for concentrates), ventilation, and storage. Products in our range come with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to support your COSHH documentation.
Concentrated disinfectants diluted on-site are far cheaper per litre than ready-to-use formulations for high-volume users. A 5-litre concentrate diluted at 1:10 produces 50 litres of working solution, compare cost per litre of working solution rather than cost per container when evaluating value.
